As we wave goodbye to the heatwave, and settle in for the return of Autumn, it means only one thing, time to ditch the beach and get to those seats! Theatre Seats, if you didn’t get my drift..
We are really excited about what’s coming up in the next few months at the Royal Manor Theatre, laughs and fun a plenty at every turn!
We kick off with welcoming back the great team from b-side as the Royal manor theatre once again helps host a week of unique art and culture in Portland. See their website for details for all events from the 5th to the 8th of September not just at our wonderful theatre, but across the whole of Portland! Now listen very carefully ,I will say this only once. ‘Allo ‘Allo will be performed by our talented company from September 30th to October 6th. Fantastique! Come enjoy this ludicrous slice of UK TV history. From the writers of Are you being served and running for 10 years 'Allo 'Allo was one of the most watched sitcoms in BBC TV history. Tickets are available from The Royal Portland Arms, our new friends at Portland Pet Supplies in Easton, or via our website. Get your tickets quick as this will most likely be a sell out.
We continue with the laughs on October 15th with There’s Something about Typhoid Mary from extroverts Living Spit, part theatre company, part bake off. A contagiously entertaining journey through the dark and sinister world of the killer cook, Typhoid Mary, told with Living Spit’s trademark wit, song and silliness. With live original music, deliciously tempting food which you can really eat (if you dare), gory deaths a-plenty, puerile puppetry and sackfuls of cross-dressing crassness, this promises to be a feverishly funny feast of fun for some of the family. Just don’t mention the T-word. Tickets available from ArtsReach Dorset.
And lastly, on Saturday October 26th we have the annual Royal Manor Rocky Horror screening. Dress up and get your freak on at our wonderfully weird little venue! Tickets will be on sale 12th September with discounts for group bookings!
Further out we have ArtsReach return in November with a dramatisation of the recent Post Office Scandal. Stay tuned for more information on that one next month.
